Film Studio
The Film Studio is located on the lower first floor in the Silverstone building. The studio is a dedicated, self-contained, fully functional film studio designed specifically for Filmmaking and Media Production students. This facility can be booked on SiSo, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, except for the Christmas closure. This facility is accessed with your access card once your booking has been made.
The Film Studio has a range of equipment and accessories students would expect to find in industry. This includes a range of lighting equipment, such as:
- hive lights that can be controlled via an app for a range of different lighting applications
- arri lights
- a moveable lighting rig with a range of different mounts
- C-stands
- flags
- diffuser boards.
We also have:
- a range of flats that can be decorated by students in the Studio Workshop for use in their set design and build
- a green screen curtain
- a black curtain
- a range of grip equipment including power supplies, cable tidies, tools and ladders – more grip equipment can be found in the separately bookable Studio Workshop.
The lighting cupboard in the studio houses the filmmaking lights (Hive and Arri), grip equipment and a range of lighting accessories. This cupboard can be accessed by booking the dedicated access card from SiSo at the same time as your studio booking.
